A Bale Breaking System Still Going Strong

19 years agao, in 2007, an Irish farmer made an investment that would go on to define nearly two decades of small bale production.

At the time, he purchased one of our bale breaking systems to support his growing operation. What he may not have realised then was that 19 years later, that same machine would still be running — reliably, consistently, and productively.

Today, that original bale breaker remains fully operational. Not as a backup. Not sitting idle in a shed. But actively working.

And this year, he has made a second investment — installing a brand-new bale breaker to run alongside the original unit.

Built for the Long Haul

19 years of small bale production is no small feat. Through changing seasons, fluctuating markets, and evolving farm demands, this machine has remained a constant.

It has processed thousands upon thousands of bales (handling both hay and haylage) while continuing to perform exactly as it was designed to.

The farmer’s decision to keep the original system in operation speaks volumes about durability and build quality. Rather than replacing it, he has integrated it into his upgraded setup.

The older bale breaker now blends hay and haylage into the new system, working in tandem with the latest model. Old and new, side by side.

That’s not just longevity — that’s engineered consistency.

When Investment Becomes Value

Farm machinery isn’t just a purchase — it’s an investment.

Over nearly two decades, this system has delivered reliable output year after year. The return on investment is clear: dependable performance, minimal downtime, and the confidence that the machine will simply keep going when needed.

It’s also the reason we’re rarely able to offer second-hand systems.

We’re often asked:
“Do you have any used bale breakers available?”

The honest answer is — very rarely.

And the reason is simple:
Our customers keep them.

When a machine continues to do its job efficiently after 19 years, there’s very little incentive to let it go.

A Testament to Practical Engineering

Longevity like this doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from:

  • Solid construction
  • Quality components
  • Practical, farm-focused engineering
  • And systems designed to work in real agricultural conditions

For nearly 19 years, this bale breaker has been exposed to the realities of farming life — dust, heavy workloads, seasonal peaks — and it continues to deliver.

That’s the standard we aim for with every machine that leaves our workshop.

Looking Ahead

With the addition of the new bale breaker, this farm is now equipped for even greater efficiency and output.

The original machine continues to contribute by blending hay and haylage into the upgraded system proving that older equipment (when built correctly) doesn’t become obsolete. It becomes part of the next chapter.

Stories like this remind us why we do what we do.

Because when machinery lasts nearly two decades and customers return not to replace, but to expand. That’s the strongest endorsement any manufacturer can receive.
