O’Briens Waste Recycling Solutions (a trading name of Biffa Waste Services Limited) have upgraded their MRF. The Facility which is located in the North East of England has been improved using KME Ltd machinery.
This MRF will be processing Dry Mixed Recyclables (DMR) such as plastics and card, paper, steel & aluminium cans and Glass. With a recycle rate of 15 tons per hour.
Ken Mills Engineering Ltd designed, manufactured and commissioned the new facility for O’Briens waste solutions. The glass is removed using the latest and most robust glass screening system. This glass screen is Supplied by KME Ltd partner CP manufacturing. Heavy-duty and low-maintenance. The glass breaker decreases system-wide maintenance by removing and separating glass out of the system early.
The fibre separation is done with CP Ballistic disc Screen. It automatically separates small fibers from containers. While also separating 2D from 3D material. Making the sorting of materials easier and more efficient. Small screen openings decrease loss of fiber to the container line. Recovering even the smallest pieces of fiber. CP Disc Screens provide the best separation in the industry for newspaper, cardboard, mixed paper and containers.
To maximize recovery we used the film Vac system. The Film Vacuum System is the perfect solution to remove awkward contaminants. Such as plastic packaging film and plastic bags from the waste stream. This makes it more convenient to handle and bale.
